Artist Bio:
I think, I draw, I create. Inspiration can come from anywhere-sometimes even from things I fear. l've had a fear of caterpillars since childhood, after accidentally touching one that delivered a nerve shock. This project became surprisingly cathartic: studying images of them, drawing, painting, and working on non-flat surfaces helped me confront that fear creatively.
As a freelance illustrator and artist, I enjoy exploring a wide range of media, surfaces, and styles-always choosing what best suits the subject. This curiosity leads me to experiment, often blending techniques in unexpected ways. I'm especially drawn to the flowing lines of Art Nouveau and the imaginative worlds of contemporary illustrators like Shaun Tan.
Though I'm a fairly new resident of Port Stephens, the natural environment and creative energy of the area have quickly become a source of inspiration. While I still don't like caterpillars, they've helped push my work in a new direction-proving that even discomfort can spark growth and creativity.
