Artist Bio:
My work is inspired by the rhythms of outdoor living--the breeze off the beach, the textures of the garden, the quiet strength of the bush. These landscapes shape not only my day-to-day but also the forms and flow of my sculpture.
Clay has been part of my life since childhood, when I first dug it from the earth and shaped it with curious hands. It remains my go-to medium-tactile, grounding, and full of possibility. I push, pull, and coax it into forms that feel familiar yet freshly reimagined.
Each piece is sculpted in clay, then fired twice to achieve the finish and strength I seek. The process is slow and considered, allowing the material to guide me as much as I shape it. Clay connects me to place-it holds the memory of hands, earth, and fire.
My surroundings-the coastline, the garden, and the bush-are always present in my work, even if only in spirit. Sculpting with clay allows me to reflect on the spaces I move through, creating pieces that celebrate nature's balance of beauty, resilience, and calm.
