We use a German-imported WideTEK 25 flatbed 3D fine art scanner, designed specifically for professional artwork reproduction.

Our standard fine art scanning is completed at 600 DPI, which provides exceptional clarity for:

Optional 1200 DPI Art Scanning – Enlarge Small Artwork to Large Format

One of the unique capabilities of our professional art scanning system is 1200 DPI colour 3D scanning.

This is particularly powerful when enlarging smaller originals.

For example:

If you have a small A5 artwork and would love to print it at A1, 1200 DPI high-resolution scanning captures significantly more surface detail. When enlarged, brushstrokes become bold and expressive, fine lines remain crisp, and subtle textures translate beautifully at scale.

This option is ideal for:

We do not use 1200 DPI scanning as our standard setting, as file sizes become extremely large and can be difficult for most artists to store or upload.

However, when dramatic enlargement or ultra-high detail artwork reproduction is required, we provide customised quotes for 1200 DPI scanning.

Art Reproduction Pricing – Based on Fit Within A-Size Dimensions

Artwork is rarely created in standard A-sizes.

For practical scanning purposes, we price based on whether your artwork fits within the following A-size dimensions. These provide a clear visual reference and align with how we efficiently divide the scanner bed.

If your artwork fits within:

  • A4 – 21 × 29.7 cm (8.3 × 11.7 in) – $85

  • A3 – 29.7 × 42 cm (11.7 × 16.5 in) – $105

  • A2 – 42 × 59.4 cm (16.5 × 23.4 in) – $130

  • A1 – 59.4 × 84.1 cm (23.4 × 33.1 in) – $170

Each art reproduction includes 30–90 minutes of professional editing, retouching and proofing through CD Fine Art Prints to ensure colour accuracy and faithful representation of your original artwork.

Unlike many art reproduction services that supply a single large file, Lion Studios provides a complete, usable digital file system.


Your artwork reproduction package includes:

600 DPI TIFF (Uncompressed Master File)

Your high-resolution master file for professional printing and large-format output. This file retains maximum image data and detail.

300 DPI JPEG (Print-Ready & Compressed)

Still suitable for printing, but compressed to a manageable file size. Many artists do not have the software or computer capacity to easily open very large TIFF files. This version is ideal for uploading to product platforms, ordering greeting cards, or working with external suppliers that limit file sizes.

72 DPI Web File (Under 2MB)

Optimised for websites, social media and online portfolios. Fast to upload and easy to use. Not suitable for printing.

310gsm Smooth Cotton Rag Test Print

You receive a test strip or small print (up to A4 size) printed through CD Fine Art Prints, allowing you to assess colour, clarity and detail before proceeding with larger print runs.

All files are supplied via WeTransfer in an organised folder structure.



Custom File Preparation for Cards & Product Printing

Need specific crop ratios or product-ready artwork files?


We offer professional file preparation for:

  • Custom width × height dimensions

  • Supplier-specific print-ready JPEG files

This service is available at $25 per output file, ensuring correct resizing, cropping, sharpening and export using professional software.
