Sunshine in my Pocket - Heidi Harber

Sunshine in my Pocket. The golden hour is a wonderful time of day to catch the warmth of light as it settles across the landscape. Sunshine in My Pocket was inspired by the rugged beauty of Bicheno, Tasmania, experienced during a recent family holiday. This work is less about capturing the exact location and more about holding onto the feeling of the place — the glowing grasses, textured rock formations, and quiet atmosphere of the Tasmanian coast. Through layered textures and earthy tones, the painting reflects the warmth and memory of a fleeting moment shared with family and carried home long after the journey ended. Each artwork is painted on a stretched canvas, float framed in solid Tasmanian Oak. measuring 30x30cm. 
 
Artist Statement - 
 
My artistic practice is inspired by the natural beauty of landscapes and the sense of peace and stillness they evoke. Working across a broad range of techniques, I am particularly drawn to mixed media processes that allow me to build layers, texture, and depth within each piece. I also enjoy eco printing, embracing the organic marks and natural patterns created through this process. Through earthy palettes, tactile surfaces, and intuitive mark-making, I aim to capture not only the appearance of a place, but the quiet atmosphere and emotional connection it creates.
