Surfer in Paradise - Alexandra Twaddle
Surfer in Paradise, A vibrant coastal landscape capturing the stillness and depth of the Australian shoreline. Rich blue tones stretch across the ocean beneath drifting clouds, while native coastal foliage frames the foreground, creating a sense of place and connection to the landscape as a surfer sits centre in the artwork. This work reflects my ongoing exploration of colour, atmosphere, and the quiet beauty found along the Australian coast. Each artwork is painted on a stretched canvas, float framed in solid Tasmanian Oak. measuring 30x30cm.
Artist Statement - This is for inclusion in the book project should you be selected. We reserve the right to edit this information.
I’m a landscape artist now based in Geelong, Victoria, after growing up along the south west coast. Living by the coast has greatly influenced my work, inspiring me to create vibrant paintings that capture the colour and beauty of the Australian landscape. Over the years, my practice has evolved, but my focus has remained centred on the rich tones, light, and atmosphere that our coastal surroundings have to offer.
