Terms and Conditions of Entry:-

1. Eligibility

Open to artists of all levels across Australia
Entrants must register and purchase an official Artist Registration & Canvas Pack

2. Registration & Inclusions

Each entry includes a 30cm x 30cm pre-primed canvas in a Tasmanian oak float frame
Canvas can be collected in-store or shipped Australia-wide
Registration fees are non-refundable

3. Artwork Requirements

All artworks must be created on the supplied canvas
All artworks must be original and created by the registered artist
All artworks must be for sale
Artists are responsible for setting their sale price

4. Submission Process

Artists must upload a clear, high-quality image of their completed artwork via the website by 18th May 2026
A photography tutorial will be provided
Judging is based on the uploaded image, not the physical artwork

5. Online Gallery & Sales

All artworks will be released in the online gallery on 20th May 2026
Artists are responsible for delivering sold artworks to Lion Studios for fulfilment
Failure to supply sold work may result in removal from the project

6. Judging & Finalists

An independent judging panel will select the top 40 finalists
Finalists will be notified on 22nd May 2026
Judges’ decisions are final

7. Finalist Requirements

Finalist artworks must be delivered to Lion Studios by 29th May 2026
Artists are responsible for delivery costs
Finalist works will:
- Be exhibited in June
- Be professionally scanned
- Be included in the coffee table book

8. Exhibition & Voting

Finalist artworks must remain for the full exhibition period
Public voting determines 1st and 2nd Prize
Limit: 1 vote per person, per day
Artists may vote for their own work

9. Prizes

Prizes are as advertised and non-transferable
Include exhibition opportunities, publication features, and store credit

10. Book Publication

Selected artworks will be included in a premium hardcover book
Artists grant permission for reproduction of their work for publication and promotion

11. Liability

All care will be taken; however, Lion Studios is not liable for loss or damage
Artists are responsible for their own insurance

12. Agreement

By entering, artists agree to all terms and conditions outlined above.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I have to use the supplied canvas?

Yes — all artworks must be created on the provided 30x30cm framed canvas.

What happens if I miss the submission deadline?

Late submissions cannot be accepted, as judging timelines are fixed.

Can I sell my artwork elsewhere?

No — once submitted, the artwork must remain available through the Lion Studios online gallery until the competition concludes.

What if my artwork sells before the exhibition?

You must supply the artwork to Lion Studios so it can be delivered to the buyer. If it is selected in the Top 40 it will be displayed for the month of June in store so you can be part of the People's Choice Prize opportunity.

Do I need to deliver my artwork if I’m not a finalist?

No — only the top 40 finalists are required to deliver physical artworks. Or if you artwork sells as part of the online gallery.

Who pays for shipping?

Canvas delivery to you: included
Finalist artwork return to gallery: artist responsibility

How are winners selected?

Finalists: selected by independent judges
Major prizes: determined by public vote
Runners up: selected by judges

Do I retain copyright of my work?

Yes — you retain copyright, but grant Lion Studios permission to use images for promotion and publication.

Can I enter more than once?

Yes — additional canvases can be purchased and entered separately.

What is the benefit of the book?

Selected artists gain professional exposure through a high-quality publication.

Does pre ordering the book guarantee my art will be part of the book?

No inclusion in the book is limited to the top 40 artworks selected by our independent judging panel.

Will I be acknowledged for my artwork if I'm part of the book?

Yes - You will be asked to complete a few short questions when uploading their completed artwork and this will be included in the publication.
