My miniature wearable art pieces are inspired by the patterns, textures, and colours of the materials I work with -upcycled textiles, Japanese washi papers, photographs, and delicate embellishments. The pendant brooches in Pretty Little Layers reflect my love for layering and intricate thread work, transforming humble fragments into cherished keepsakes.
Each piece is meticulously handcrafted. I often begin with textiles or washi paper, adding personal photographs, beads, feathers, and metallic threads. These are carefully applied using acid-free adhesives and fine dental instruments to ensure both strength and detail. The woven textures of fabric and the floral designs of washi paper provide the perfect canvas for colour, thread, and shine.
My journey began with a refusal to see beautiful textile samples end up in landfill.
That commitment to upcycling led to early wall art experiments, solo and group exhibitions, and now a growing jewellery practice. An enduring passion for creating one-of-a-kind pieces keeps my work ever-evolving -each new creation a celebration of sustainability, craft, and imagination.
